A high-end contemporary women's collection, Sarine Marie was founded in 2011 by
fashion designer Sarine Berberian. Headquartered in Los Angeles, the ready-to-wear label
is designed for fashion-forward women who understand that high quality garments
come with longevity. Sarine Marie focuses on feminine and tailored pieces
while using a variation of textiles to incorporate a contemporary flair.
Berberian, a southern California Native and third-generation fashion designer,
developed her fashion trademark from her industry veteran grandmother and parents.
As a Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) alumnus, Berberian designed
her first articles of clothing in grade school – it was a fuchsia wool gabardine vest and a blazer.
She sketched it and enlisted her grandmother’s expertise to help bring it to life.
Berberian’s collections are inspired by lady-like silhouettes with a play on classy
and edgy elements. Much of her inspiration is drawn from her love of 1950s and '60s
as well as tailored and structured pieces seen in menswear pieces.
The Sarine Marie fabric collections includes silks, damask cotton, jersey,
and silk tweeds in light feminine colors such as gold, ivory, lilac,
champaign, and old rose. To seamlessly transition a look from day to night
or from soft to bold, Berberian incorporates mixed fabrics and textures.
Each piece is masterfully designed, manufactured and distributed in-house in Los Angeles.
When she isn’t sketching illustrations and scouting for the latest trends,
Berberian devotes her time to various non-profit organizations. She began her
philanthropic efforts in 2012 when she collaborated with the Nataline Sarkisyan Foundation
to honor the memory of a teen with aspirations to be a fashion designer.
